MYST OF SIAM™
THE SIGNATURE IDENTITY BEHIND ASIATIC MASSAGE
One treatment. More than one way of listening to the body.
Myst of Siam™ is the signature identity behind Asiatic Massage. Many of our long-standing clients already know and regularly request this treatment.
It is Asiatic’s interpretation of a Thai fusion massage, bringing aromatic oil, compression, assisted stretching, movement, and distinctive massage strokes together in one personalised session. But this is not simply a Thai combination massage where several techniques are combined. The skill lies in how they are composed.
The skill lies in how they are composed.
How much pressure. When to move. When to stretch. When to flow.
And when to let the body be still.
ONE TREATMENT. FOUR ELEMENTS.
Flow
Aromatic oil from Thailand allows longer, connected massage strokes to move smoothly across the body. The pace can slow and become more enveloping when you want relaxation.
Pressure
Compression and focused hands-on work can be introduced where you want more attention. Pressure is adapted to you. Stronger is not automatically better.
Motion
Assisted stretching and guided movement bring another dimension to the session when remaining completely still does not feel like enough.
Rhythm
This transforms separate techniques into Asiatic Massage. Your therapist chooses when and how the treatment moves between flowing oil work, compression, movement, and quieter moments.
Not a combination. A composition.
Ready to experience Asiatic Massage?
One treatment. Composed around you
NO FIXED SEQUENCE
PERSONALISED BODYWORK
The treatment follows you.
Asiatic Massage was developed as a personalised experience, not a rigid sequence delivered identically to every client.
You may arrive wanting relaxation but find that a little more focused pressure feels right. You may expect a firm treatment but find that slower movement and flowing oil work are exactly what you want that day. Or you may want the complete experience: pressure, stretching, movement and flow.
As the session develops, your therapist adjusts the pace, pressure, focus, and balance of techniques around you.
The treatment remains recognisably Asiatic Massage.
The experience belongs to you.
HOW DO YOU WANT TO FEEL?
Start there.
You don’t need to understand massage terminology before booking. Let us know what you want from the session.
I WANT TO SLOW DOWN
More flowing touch, aromatic oil and an unhurried pace.
I WANT MORE PRESSURE
A firmer balance of compression and focused massage work.
I FEEL STIFF
More assisted movement and stretching can be incorporated where appropriate.
I WANT A BIT OF EVERYTHING
That is exactly what Asiatic Massage was created for.
THE OIL
FROM THAILAND
The aroma belongs to the treatment. It doesn’t dominate it.
Asiatic Massage uses its own aromatic massage-oil blend from Thailand.
The oil supports the flowing character of the treatment, allowing longer massage strokes to transition naturally into compression, movement and more focused work. Unlike our Aromatherapy Massage, where the chosen aromatic blend shapes the experience, Asiatic Massage focuses on the composition of touch.
Aromatic oil. Skilled hands. Movement. Rhythm.
For anyone looking for a Thai oil massage in London but wanting something more individual than a conventional oil treatment, Asiatic Massage offers a distinctly Asiatic interpretation.
What Happens During Asiatic Massage?
1
WE START WITH YOU
Tell your therapist your preferred pressure, the areas you would particularly like us to focus on, and anything you would prefer us to avoid
2
YOU SETTLE IN
Asiatic Massage is an oil-based treatment. You undress appropriately for the massage and remain professionally covered with fresh Asiatic linen, with only the area being worked on uncovered.
3
FLOW ESTABLISHES THE RHYTHM
Aromatic oil and connected massage strokes begin the treatment.
4
PRESSURE CAN DEVELOP
Compression and more focused massage techniques can be introduced based on your preference and the session’s direction.
5
THE BODY CAN MOVE
Assisted stretching and guided movement may be incorporated where they complement the treatment.
6
THE COMPOSITION CHANGES
Pressure, movement, rhythm and focus can continue to evolve throughout your appointment.
The treatment is tailored around you.
Sooya was very attentive and able to easily identify where my body held tension —an excellent deep tissue massage.
CREATED BY ASIATIC
THE STORY BEHIND THE TREATMENT
Twenty-five years of experiencing massage shaped what we wanted to create.
Asiatic Massage was not created as a marketing concept. For around 25 years, massage has been part of the founders’ own lives — not only through the professional world of Asiatic, but through regularly receiving bodywork themselves. Along the way, they sought out massage and wellness experiences across Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and Tokyo.
Different places revealed very different approaches to touch. Some treatments centred around movement. Others around rhythm. Some used oil beautifully. Others demonstrated how compression and stillness could be just as important as movement. Back in London, years of hands-on experience revealed something equally important:
People rarely fit neatly into one massage category.
One person may love Thai stretching but also enjoy oil-based massage. Another may enjoy firm pressure without wanting an entire Deep Tissue session. Someone else may primarily want relaxation while still appreciating skilled, purposeful bodywork. Asiatic Massage grew from those experiences. Not by copying one tradition. But by learning from different approaches to touch and composing those ideas through the Asiatic way.
“The technique is only part of it. What makes Asiatic Massage different is knowing whento flow, when to apply pressure, when to move — and when to do less.”

MYST OF SIAM™
THAI ROOTS · A WIDER JOURNEY
A tribute to where the journey began.
“Siam” is the historic name of Thailand, the country at the roots of Asiatic’s bodywork story. Thai massage introduced us to a way of working in which the practitioner does more than massage the body. Pressure, compression, rhythm, positioning and movement can all become part of the experience.
The story behind Asiatic Massage also carries memories of bodywork experienced elsewhere across Asia. Those traditions are not interchangeable, and Asiatic Massage does not claim to represent one universal form of “Asian massage.”
Instead, Myst of Siam™ is our way of expressing the inspiration behind the treatment. It is a tribute to the skilled hands, places and experiences that helped shape our understanding of touch. We brought those influences home to London. Then we made the treatment our own.
Thai roots. Asian inspiration. Refined on Upper Street.
MORE THAN A COMBINATION MASSAGE
THAI FUSION · THE ASIATIC WAY
The difference is in how everything comes together.
A typical Thai combination massage may bring several techniques into a single appointment. Asiatic Massage works differently. The techniques are not treated as separate stages to complete. Flow moves into compression. Compression can give way to movement. Movement can become stillness.
Then the rhythm changes again. The treatment is continuously composed around the person receiving it. That is why we describe Asiatic Massage not simply as a Thai fusion massage, but as:
The Signature Asiatic Massage.
For people searching for a Thai fusion massage in London, the distinction is important: this is not a pre-set combination of techniques. It is Asiatic’s own signature composition. Asiatic Massage is our signature massage in London, available at both Angel and Highbury.

FOUNDER-LED
A signature treatment should have a real story behind it.
Asiatic’s founders developed Asiatic Massage through years of receiving, exploring, and shaping the massage experience at Asiatic.
That experience continues to influence how our practitioners work today:
Listen first. Adapt throughout. Never make the guest fit the routine.
Asiatic Massage may be the clearest expression of that philosophy.
Myst of Siam™ is the story behind it.
AN ASIATIC FAVOURITE
Some treatments never really disappear.
Long-standing clients know it simply as Asiatic Massage.
Asiatic’s founders developed Asiatic Massage through years of receiving, exploring, and shaping the massage experience at Asiatic. We listened.
That told us something important:
The treatment had already become part of Asiatic.
Myst of Siam™ now gives us a way to express the story, inspiration and philosophy behind Asiatic Massage — without changing the treatment name our clients already know. Bring together what works beautifully.
Adapt it to the individual. Make it unmistakably Asiatic.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Clear answers before you book.
What is Asiatic Massage?
Asiatic Massage is our signature treatment, combining aromatic oil from Thailand, compression, distinctive massage strokes, assisted stretching and movement in a single personalised session. Myst of Siam™ is the signature identity and story behind the treatment.
What does Myst of Siam mean?
Myst of Siam evokes the traditional beauty, tranquillity and therapeutic traditions of Siam, the former name of Thailand. It reflects a massage experience inspired by Thai wellness techniques, combining relaxation and carefully applied massage movements.
Is Myst of Siam a different treatment from Asiatic Massage?
Myst of Siam is the name of the treatment offered on our menu, while Asiatic Massage describes the style of massage. The treatment combines elements inspired by Asian massage traditions to create a relaxing and restorative experience.
What is a Thai fusion massage?
A Thai fusion massage combines techniques from Traditional Thai Massage with other massage styles, such as oil massage, gentle stretching and pressure-based techniques. This creates a balanced treatment that can help ease muscle tension, encourage relaxation and improve flexibility.
Is Asiatic Massage a Thai combination massage?
Asiatic Massage can be understood as a combination treatment inspired by Thai and other Asian massage techniques. Depending on the treatment approach, it may blend rhythmic pressure, flowing massage movements and relaxation techniques into one session.
Is Asiatic Massage a Thai oil massage?
Asiatic Massage may incorporate oil-based techniques, but it is not necessarily the same as a traditional Thai oil massage. The exact techniques depend on the treatment offered. Please check the service details or ask your therapist what is included in your session.
How is Asiatic Massage different from Traditional Thai Massage?
Traditional Thai Massage typically focuses on acupressure, assisted stretching and rhythmic movements, often performed without oil and with the client wearing comfortable clothing. Asiatic Massage offers a more blended approach, combining Asian-inspired techniques to create a treatment that may feel more flowing and relaxing. The main difference is the combination of techniques used.
How is Asiatic Massage different from Aromatherapy Massage?
Asiatic Massage draws on a combination of Asian-inspired massage techniques and may include varied pressure and movements. Aromatherapy Massage primarily uses massage oils, often blended with essential oils, alongside flowing strokes to promote relaxation. Asiatic Massage may offer a more varied treatment experience, while Aromatherapy Massage places greater emphasis on soothing touch and aromas.
Does Asiatic Massage include stretching?
Asiatic Massage may include gentle stretching, depending on the techniques used during your session. If stretching is important to you, let your therapist know when booking so they can explain what to expect and adapt the treatment to your comfort.
Can I choose the pressure?
Yes, you can let your therapist know whether you prefer light, medium or firm pressure. They can adjust the treatment to your comfort level and focus on areas where you would like more attention.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Your therapist will advise you if the treatment involves oil or requires you to change. If you are unsure what to bring, check the booking details before your appointment.
Is Asiatic Massage a full-body massage?
Asiatic Massage can be offered as a full-body treatment, depending on the session you book. You can discuss your preferences with your therapist, including whether you would like attention focused on particular areas such as your back, neck and shoulders.
Should I book 60, 90 or 120 minutes?
The ideal duration depends on your needs and how much time you would like to spend relaxing.
60 minutes: A good choice for a shorter treatment or focusing on key areas.
90 minutes: Allows more time for a thorough treatment and additional attention to areas of tension.
120 minutes: Ideal if you prefer a longer, more unhurried massage experience.
Is Asiatic Massage suitable if I usually book Deep Tissue Massage?
Yes, Asiatic Massage may be a good alternative if you usually enjoy Deep Tissue Massage and want to try a different treatment style. Deep Tissue Massage generally focuses on deeper muscle tension using targeted, firmer pressure, whereas Asiatic Massage offers a blend of techniques. Tell your therapist if you prefer firm pressure so they can discuss the most suitable approach.
Can I walk in for Asiatic Massage?
Walk-ins may be possible depending on therapist availability. Booking in advance is recommended to secure your preferred appointment time and treatment duration.
Is Asiatic a massage spa in London?
Asiatic Massage is a treatment style rather than the name of a spa. You can explore the Myst of Siam treatment at our London massage studio in Islington and check the available appointment times through our website.
